STORIES OF LOCAL MISSION

CHURCH ARMY MISSION SUNDAY

Pathways Workshop - Introduction

The pathway, or ministry model of a church is ‘How the church gets its job done.’  The ‘job’ of the local church is assumed to be making disciples, from raw material unbelievers to fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.  The pathway maps the process by which this is accomplished.  Larger churches will have many pathways.  Smaller churches just one or two.

A Process of Maturing

For most people, the journey from unbeliever to fully-devoted follower of Jesus takes a number of years.  While everyone’s journey is unique, most people will follow seven generally identifiable steps.

An effective church pathway understands these steps and targets specific ministry activities towards helping people take them.  The purpose of any one ministry activity is to mature people so they ‘graduate’ to the next step.  Together, the combined ministries of the church should achieve the overall church mission.

Seven Pathway Steps

In the workshop you’ll be introduced to the concept of church mission as a development process, and you’ll learn how the process can work effectively.  You’ll assess the purpose of the various activities in your church, and consider how well they all work together.  You will see how to make individual ministries more effective by cooperating with other ministries in the church, and how to make the most of your church resources by deploying them strategically.

The pathways workshop usually takes about 3 hours.

There are Great Opportunities, but we need Your Help!

Kihilla has twelve bedrooms for accommodation. Only three rooms have been renovated with fresh paint, fly screens and some
new carpeting.

Will you consider helping the Restoration guy’s finish another bedroom before winter?
