ken morgan

Ken has taken over the management of Church Army Australia while a dedicated team interview and select a new National Director. He previously oversaw the development and delivery of missional training in Church Army. He has developed the curriculum for the Certificate IV in local mission and the Global GAP year program. He is an experienced coach and church consultant having worked with CRM and a variety of corporations in human resources management. Ken lives in Melbourne, with wife Janet and daughters Melissa and Danielle.

Kathi is the Business Manager of The Church Army in Australia and co-founder (with David Cohen) of Moringa Associates Inc. She has served as Secretary and Operations Manager since its inception in 2006. For 10 years, she worked with Youth With A Mission; 4 years as Operations Director for the Evangelical Fellowship of Mission Agencies, USA ; 6 years as Promotions Manager of CNEC/Partners International Australia. Kathi served on the board of Christian Management Australia for 7 years.

Tim was National Director of Church Army from 2003 - 2010. During this time, he refocussed the organisation on church planting and training missionaries for the local Australian context, before transitioning to his current role. Tim was commissioned as an evangelist in 1989 and served in Sydney, Canberra and Goulburn dioceses. Between 1995 and 2003, he started and built a church around people recovering from alcohol and drug addiction in Branson, USA. He is currently based in Airds/Campbelltown, on the outskirts of Sydney.

Peter oversees the various training programmes offered by Church Army Australia in partnership with Gwen. Commissioned in 1987, Peter is ordained and has worked with a variety of Anglican dioceses including Brisbane, Sydney and Tasmania. Peter has a strong interest in seeing adults become more effective in their faith and he oversees the academic dimension to this exciting initiative.

Ian joined the team in 2007 to lead Church Army’s drug and alcohol recovery ministry at Kihilla, and is now in Canberra working in partnership with Koolamon Fellowship in the Koolamon Restoration Program. Ian is from Branson, USA, and knows well the life transforming nature of Christ-centred communities. Ian helps our local mission bases to provide recovery programs for those they encounter.

Phil has been working for Church Army since Feb 09, intitially training with Ian Metz to fill his current position as Restoration Coordinator at Kihilla. He knows that a relationship with God and willingness to follow His lead is a vital part of recovery.

Gwen oversees the short-term missional training program offered by Church Army Australia in partnership with Peter. Gwen provides much pastoral – even parental - support to both GAP and SOLM students. She is passionate about building effective Christian communities and is playing a key role in Kihilla’s spiritual development.

David is the co-founder (with Kathi) of Moringa Associates Inc., set up in 2006 to ‘serve the church worldwide through Prayer, in Leadership Development and Conflict Transformation’. David has spent his working life in Christian ministry working with the Bible Society in Mauritius, New Zealand, and Africa; parish ministry in the Diocese of Sydney; as General Director of Scripture Union in England and Wales, with Tear Fund UK leading their team in Zaire and as National Director of CNEC/Partners International Australia. David was ordained in Australia in 1967; and is an Honorary Canon of the Diocese of Antsiranana in Madagascar.

Jess is a graduate of our training program and is part of the team at the Lawson local mission base. She comes to us with a strong fundraising and communications background. Jess began working with Church Army in 2010.

A secretarial background, having worked with secular organisations in India and the United Kingdom since 1974, and in Australia since 1983. In Christian organisations since 1993; commenced with Church Army Australia in April 1996.

Sim started off as a high school Maths/Science teacher until ill health forced a switch to tutoring and domestic duties. For the last nine years he has worked as a bookkeeper. Sim assists Kathi with the accounting three days a week. Sim is especially enjoying the Christ-centred community aspect of working with CA at Kihilla.
