Equipping Evangelists

Equipping Evangelists to effectively reach people who are not currently following Christ.

We have been doing that in one form or another for nearly 80 years in Australia. We are rolling out a whole set of tools in the form of Equipping Units to do that better. Over the next two years, 2013-2014 we will offer 20 units to equip evangelists.

The Bible and theology are actively integrated with practical skill components in each equipping unit. All tasks involve putting your learning into practice. Our Equipping tools are designed to help faithful and effective Evangelism happen. We’ve also made it accessible to as many as possible, regardless of educational background.

Intensives and placements are possible all over Australia, using our network of active coaches. Church Army Equipping aims to develop Evangelists personally and relationally as well as developing skills, character and knowledge.

Our equipping tools are all  based on real experience in evangelism. They are designed to help evangelists grow in effectiveness and help them identify and develop their Evangelistic gift.  Church Army Australia assess people who apply to be Endorsed Evangelists to send and support them to reach beyond existing churches with the Gospel of Jesus.

What The Toolbox of Equipping units is:

It is designed to develop a potential evangelist’s understanding of specific ideas and skills related to evangelism. Anyone can enrol in these units. They can now be done from anywhere in Australia, starting at any time, and can be done as either a single unit or as a block. We aim to make each unit affordable, practical and accessible.

How it works:

When enrolled in a unit, each participant will receive a Unit Handbook. This will include all unit content, readings and access to online resources. They will also be linked up with an active Church Army Endorsed Evangelist who will mentor them throughout the unit. Each unit has elements that are self taught, others that are done with their mentor and there are sections which will be done in regional intensives. These intensives are a chance for anyone undergoing our equipping to get together for a weekend and work through some of the course material best worked through collectively.

The Church Army Pathway to becoming an Endorsed Evangelist:

Some of those people who participate in the evangelism equipping units may want to apply to become endorsed evangelists with Church Army Australia. We endorse people who are gifted in evangelism and actively involved in evangelistic ministry. Being endorsed ensures a person the benefits of being part of a growing society of evangelists with relational, vocational, financial and administrative support and development.
