Church Army is serious about training more Evangelists to effectively reach people who are not currently following Christ.
We have three pathways of practical training designed to equip, launch, send and support Evangelists to effectively reach Australia with the Gospel of Jesus.
1. Gap year is a Certificate in Local Mission offered to Evangelists who are aged 18-25. Includes placements with local mission bases.
2. School of Local Mission is the same Certificate in Local Mission material, offered over two years with intensives.
3. Leadership in Local Mission is a new one year programme designed for Leaders in local evangelism and mission. Course-work based on practical experience with intensives. Starting 2012.

Training activities are interactive. You won’t spend hours in the abstract. The Bible and theology are actively integrated with practical components in each unit. All assessment tasks involve putting your learning into practice. It is designed to help faithful and effective Evangelism happen. We’ve also made it accessible to as many Evangelists as possible, regardless of educational background.
Intensives are at Kihilla, Church Army’s national headquarters in the Blue Mountains. Placements are possible all over Australia. Our Training aims to develop Evangelists personally and relationally as well as developing skills, character and knowledge.
We are now Enrolling for 2012 our coalface Training for Evangelists.
Our courses are all based on real experience in evangelism. They are designed to help evangelists grow in effectiveness and help them identify and develop their Evangelistic gift. Through these courses, Church Army Australia assesses people who apply to be Endorsed Evangelists to send and support them to reach beyond existing churches with the Gospel of Jesus.
